Employee Assistance Program
The Boral Employee Assistance Program (BEAP) is a free confidential and professional counselling service available to Midland Brick and Boral employees and their immediate families. BEAP can help solve problems that are affecting employees work and personal life, including relationship problems, emotional stress, grief and bereavement, marriage and family problems, alcohol, other drugs and gambling and more.

Learning
Life long learning is an important strategy of Midland Brick. Comprehensive training and development programs and resources ensure that employee skills are always up to date. Financial assistance is provided for some self study programs.

Outward Bound Australia
In the interest of promoting work-life balance, Boral has joined forces with Outward Bound Australia to provide ‘Family Re-Discovery’ scholarships to Boral families. These scholarships are designed to give employees a chance to ‘re-connect’ with their families by undertaking a 9 day journey through the Australian wilderness. Each year a limited number of scholarships are offered to employees with a son or daughter between 12 and 18 years of age for a combination of one parent and one child.

Parental Leave
Midland Brick is committed to ensuring social sustainability, including a sustainable work environment for employees. As such, Midland Brick strives to support employees and their families and encourages a greater focus on work-life balance. To help facilitate this, paid parental leave is available to eligible employees, specifically 8 weeks paid maternity leave and 1 week paid paternity leave.

Proactive Health Awareness Program
Midland Brick is dedicated to the physical and mental health and wellbeing of its staff, having long recognised the benefits of a healthy and active workforce. Midland Brick has a structured Wellness Program in place that gives staff access to free annual flu vaccinations and free structured support to develop healthier lifestyle habits. Free workshops about nutrition, back pain prevention, being sun-smart and detecting skin cancer early, developing better sleeping patterns, work-life balance and much more are also available to staff.

Superannuation
Permanent and casual employees of Midland Brick are entitled to become members of Boral Super, which is a sub-plan of Plum Superannuation Fund. Midland Brick makes contributions on behalf of employees and employees can choose how their superannuation is invested.
