London House: A Red Brick Statement in Perth’s West End

1 min read

Completed in 1985, London House rises 75 metres above the City of Perth’s West End. At 18 storeys high, it’s a bold example of how traditional materials like brick can be used in modern, large-scale construction to dramatic effect.

Clad in locally made Midland Red Smooth bricks, London House offers a rich visual contrast to the predominantly steel and concrete buildings that surround it. Its warm red brick façade brings a sense of texture and timelessness to the streetscape, while complementing nearby heritage sites like The Cloisters.

Designed to bridge the gap between old and new, the building adds both architectural diversity and historic resonance to the city’s west end with Midland Brick’s clay bricks helping to deliver a façade that has stood the test of time for nearly four decades.
