Guildford Grammar School’s Catalyst Building – A Modern Tribute to a Historic Campus

2 mins read

“…a timeless design that paid tribute to the past, while maintaining a fixed sight on the future.”

The Catalyst Building at Guildford Grammar School in Western Australia stands as a strong example of how clay brick can be both enduring and adaptable — not only weatherproof and sustainable, but also modern, versatile and progressive.

A State-of-the-Art Facility in a Heritage Setting

Completed several years ago, the Catalyst Building was constructed within the beautiful, heritage-listed grounds of Guildford Grammar School in Guildford, WA. The project was designed to balance the school’s rich history with the demands of contemporary education.

This $15 million development delivered:

  • 14 purpose-built teaching rooms
  • 8 fully equipped laboratories
  • New areas for IT, staff planning and administration

Constructed by Emco Building Company, the project was completed in approximately 12 months and became a key facility supporting the school’s evolving educational programs.

Custom Bricks That Brought the Vision to Life
