Juniper Residential Care Facility: Award-Winning Aged Care Built with Over 100,000 Feature Bricks
Located just 4.5km northwest of the Albany city centre, the Juniper Residential Care Facility is a purpose-built, 100-bed high care facility that delivers vital services to the Lockyer community. Developed on a greenfield site within a well-established residential area, the project brings a modern and compassionate approach to aged care in regional Western Australia.
In addition to residential care accommodation, the facility includes kitchens, administration offices, internal roads, car parks, and landscaped areas, all designed to support residents’ comfort and well-being. Once fully operational, the site is expected to employ around 120 staff across nursing, allied health, management, and support roles.
A standout element of the build is the use of over 100,000 Cobalt Feature Bricks, originally manufactured under our previous brand name, Brikmakers. These dark-toned, smooth face bricks lend the project a contemporary and refined aesthetic enhancing both the visual appeal and long-term durability of the structure.
The project has earned widespread industry recognition, taking out several accolades at the 2019 Master Builders Association WA Awards, including:
- Best Regional Project
- Best Aged Care Building ($20M–$50M)
- Excellence in Brick and Block Paving
- Site Manager of the Year
- Silver Trowel Award
At Midland Brick, we’re proud to have supplied the bricks that helped deliver this award-winning facility supporting the needs of ageing Western Australians with care, quality and community in mind.
