BGC maintains heritage while positioning for future growth
BGC (Australia) Pty Ltd (BGC) is pleased to announce it has completed the full integration of its brickmaking operations and confirm the new combined entity will trade solely under the historic Midland Brick name.
Both the Middle Swan (Midland Brick) and South Guildford (Brikmakers) production facilities are located within the Midland Region. They will both continue to operate in an integrated manner, with a consolidated product offering.
To mark the transition, BGC will launch a fresh public face for the Midland Brick brand as of 1 September 2021, while the previously separate Brikmakers brand will be retired.
BGC chief executive Danny Cooper said BGC was unifying two iconic Western Australian brands and ensuring the heritage of the Midland Brick name was continued within the Western Australian market.
“We are committed to being the leading brick maker in Australia and continuing to deliver on our core values of providing quality service and reliability to our customers, with the focus on a business-as-usual experience for each of them,” Mr Cooper said.
“We consulted our employees and customers to develop a unified brand strategy for our expanded brick making business, which we believe provides clear perspective on how best to move forward and become a future ready organisation.”
BGC announced the transaction to acquire Midland Brick in September last year and gained ACCC approval to proceed in December. Importantly, the integration of the Midland Brick and Brikmakers businesses since the acquisition has been successful in avoiding any employee redundancies.
